Procedure: Ears are cropped by 9 weeks of age, posted for 2 days then left down to finish healing for 2-3 weeks.
We remove the stitches from the ears after 10 days.
During the 2-3 week period we like to apply triple antibiotic to the ears every other day. to prevent infection and to minimise any scarring.
After 2-3 weeks the edges should be healed and thus a posting method MUST begin/.

- Change posts every other day (TAMPON METHOD) or every 4 days (ZIPTIE METHOD)
- In between ear tapings we use baby wipes to clen, let dry completely before re-posting usually 10 mins.
- Always make sure you ear is stretched up onto post while taping/adhering
- Never let a puppy sleep on un-taped ears
- Never let puppy escape at ear posting time, if they win once they will always try. Never winning creates submission which makes this task a lot easier, you can even post by yourself once trained.
- Do not let your vet or vet techs post ears, they are not trained to post ears in school.
- However in some cases Veterinarians and vet techs who work for such hospitals are trained in ear posting and do excellent job's. It is still best to post the ears yourself, as clinic hours are not always open and ears are sometimes require new postings at any time.
- Also never take advice from breeders who's dogs ears do not stand beautifully.
- Do not tape the ears too tight, just taut.
- Be patient on the ears, some can take 3 months,6 months, 9 months, and sometimes even over a year depending on genetics, length, and how well you maintain them.
- Once you get the hang of it, its super easy!
- We consider ear taping concerns and questions an emergency please do not hesitate to call us no matter the time. We can also do skype video calls.
Once your puppy is home and you are ready to do your first posting we would like to be sent a picture of the job you did. That way we can give some constructive criticism if needed. If you follow our directions and advice perfectly, we can promise that your dogs ears will stand just as beautifully as ours.
